Terms and Privacy Policy: every photo and video in public posts is now checked
We now check every photo and video in public posts automatically. Clear cases are hidden right away until someone from our team has looked at them.
What changed:
- Terms of Service, section 11 (Moderation): the automatic check now covers the text, every photo, and the cover and three still frames of every video in a public post. A new paragraph, "Temporary hiding of clear cases", explains what happens when something is found.
- Privacy Policy, section 2.6.2: describes the wider check, that still frames of videos are sent to our moderation service only for this check and are not stored, and that the final decision is always made by a person.
- Community Guidelines: describe the one exception to "no automatic removal".
Why:
Until now only the text and the first photo were checked. Harmful pictures could appear in a post's later photos or inside a video. We want Hadaff to stay a safe place for everyone, including younger users.
How it works:
- Only public posts are checked. Private accounts, posts for followers, friends or close friends, stories and chats are never checked.
- If a photo or video very likely shows sexual content, content that puts minors at risk, or graphic violence, the post is hidden from everyone but you right away.
- You see "Hidden while our team checks it" on the post and get an email that explains why.
- A person on our team checks it, usually within 24 hours. If the post is fine, it is visible again as before. If it is removed, you are told why and can appeal.
- Nothing is deleted and no account is restricted by this check alone.
Applies from: October 19, 2026.
What you need to do: nothing. When you open the app, you will be asked once to accept the updated Terms. The earlier versions stay available in our archive.
