Frequently asked questions
Which calculation method is used in Egypt?
The Egyptian method of the Egyptian General Authority of Survey: Fajr when the sun is 19.5° below the horizon and Isha at 17.5°. This site uses the same settings; the Asr time can be switched to the Hanafi calculation on every city page. The timetable of the Ministry of Awqaf is authoritative.
Can I see prayer times for my exact location?
Yes. Tap the button at the top of this page and the times are calculated for your position right in your browser, with the nearest listed city. Your location is not sent anywhere.
Does Egypt use daylight saving time?
Yes. In 2027 Egypt is expected to switch to summer time (UTC+3) on April 30 and back to UTC+2 on October 29. The prayer times on this page always use the local clock, so they jump by an hour on those days.
