Where are the 99 names of Allah mentioned?
The Prophet ﷺ said: "Allah has ninety-nine names, one hundred less one. Whoever preserves them (ahsaha) will enter Paradise" (al-Bukhari, Muslim). The list used here is the well-known enumeration in at-Tirmidhi.
Does Allah have only 99 names?
No. The hadith mentions 99 names with a special virtue. According to another hadith there are names Allah has kept in His knowledge of the unseen (Ahmad).
