Indeed, We sent Noah to his people, [saying], "Warn your people before there comes to them a painful punishment
Qala ya qawmi innee lakum natheerun mubeenun
He said, "O my people, indeed I am to you a clear warner
Ani oʿbudoo Allaha waittaqoohu waateeʿooni
[Saying], 'Worship Allah, fear Him and obey me
Yaghfir lakum min thunoobikum wayuakhkhirkum ila ajalin musamman inna ajala Allahi itha jaa la yuakhkharu law kuntum taʿlamoona
Allah will forgive you of your sins and delay you for a specified term. Indeed, the time [set by] Allah, when it comes, will not be delayed, if you only knew
Qala rabbi innee daʿawtu qawmee laylan wanaharan
He said, "My Lord, indeed I invited my people [to truth] night and day
Falam yazidhum duʿaee illa firaran
But my invitation increased them not except in flight
Wainnee kullama daʿawtuhum litaghfira lahum jaʿaloo asabiʿahum fee athanihim waistaghshaw thiyabahum waasarroo waistakbaroo istikbaran
And indeed, every time I invited them that You may forgive them, they put their fingers in their ears, covered themselves with their garments, persisted, and were arrogant with [great] arrogance
Thumma innee daʿawtuhum jiharan
Then I invited them publicly
Thumma innee aʿlantu lahum waasrartu lahum israran
Then I announced to them and [also] confided to them secretly

Ma lakum la tarjoona lillahi waqaran
What is [the matter] with you that you do not attribute to Allah [due] grandeur

Waqad khalaqakum atwaran
While He has created you in stages

Do you not consider how Allah has created seven heavens in layers
Wajaʿala alqamara feehinna nooran wajaʿala alshshamsa sirajan
And made the moon therein a [reflected] light and made the sun a burning lamp
WaAllahu anbatakum mina alardi nabatan
And Allah has caused you to grow from the earth a [progressive] growth
Thumma yuʿeedukum feeha wayukhrijukum ikhrajan
Then He will return you into it and extract you [another] extraction

Litaslukoo minha subulan fijajan
That you may follow therein roads of passage
Qala noohun rabbi innahum ʿasawnee waittabaʿoo man lam yazidhu maluhu wawaladuhu illa khasaran

Waqad adalloo katheeran wala tazidi alththalimeena illa dalalan
