From the Quran
وَٱسۡتَعِينُواْ بِٱلصَّبۡرِ وَٱلصَّلَوٰةِۚ وَإِنَّهَا لَكَبِيرَةٌ إِلَّا عَلَى ٱلۡخَٰشِعِينَ ﴿٤٥﴾
Waistaʿeenoo bialssabri waalssalati wainnaha lakabeeratun illa ʿala alkhashiʿeena
And seek help through patience and prayer, and indeed, it is difficult except for the humbly submissive [to Allah]
Quran 2:45 · Surah Al-Baqara
ٱتۡلُ مَآ أُوحِيَ إِلَيۡكَ مِنَ ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ وَأَقِمِ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَۖ إِنَّ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ تَنۡهَىٰ عَنِ ٱلۡفَحۡشَآءِ وَٱلۡمُنكَرِۗ وَلَذِكۡرُ ٱللَّهِ أَكۡبَرُۗ وَٱللَّهُ يَعۡلَمُ مَا تَصۡنَعُونَ ﴿٤٥﴾
Otlu ma oohiya ilayka mina alkitabi waaqimi alssalata inna alssalata tanha ʿani alfahshai waalmunkari walathikru Allahi akbaru waAllahu yaʿlamu ma tasnaʿoona
Recite, [O Muhammad], what has been revealed to you of the Book and establish prayer. Indeed, prayer prohibits immorality and wrongdoing, and the remembrance of Allah is greater. And Allah knows that which you do
Quran 29:45 · Surah Al-Ankabut
إِنَّنِيٓ أَنَا ٱللَّهُ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّآ أَنَا۠ فَٱعۡبُدۡنِي وَأَقِمِ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ لِذِكۡرِيٓ ﴿١٤﴾
Innanee ana Allahu la ilaha illa ana faoʿbudnee waaqimi alssalata lithikree
Indeed, I am Allah. There is no deity except Me, so worship Me and establish prayer for My remembrance

From the hadith
The first deed a servant will be asked about on the Day of Resurrection is the prayer. If it is sound, the rest of his deeds will be sound.

If there were a river at the door of one of you in which he bathed five times a day, would any dirt remain on him? That is like the five prayers: Allah wipes away sins with them.
