Explaining Islam to children

Children ask the biggest questions in the simplest words. Hadi can help you find answers at their level, with the evidence for you as a parent.

Questions children ask

Tips for parents

  1. Answer honestly and simply. It is fine to say "Let's find out together."
  2. Start with love: Allah made everything, He loves us and He is the Most Merciful.
  3. Use stories: the prophets, the companions, the stories of the Quran.
  4. Lead by example. Children copy what they see more than what they hear.
  5. Make worship joyful: pray together, count dhikr together, celebrate Eid.
  6. Keep it consistent: a short daily routine, such as one surah or one dua.

Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo qoo anfusakum waahleekum naran waqooduha alnnasu waalhijaratu ʿalayha malaikatun ghilathun shidadun la yaʿsoona Allaha ma amarahum wayafʿaloona ma yumaroona

O you who have believed, protect yourselves and your families from a Fire whose fuel is people and stones, over which are [appointed] angels, harsh and severe; they do not disobey Allah in what He commands them but do what they are commanded

Quran 66:6 · Surah At-Tahrim

Each of you is a shepherd and each of you is responsible for his flock.
