Islamic AI chatbot: what a good one should do
AI chatbots can answer questions about Islam in seconds. But a fluent answer is not always a correct one. These are the things that matter, and how Hadi handles them.
1. It names its sources
religious claim needs evidence. A good Islamic AI cites the Quran with surah and verse and hadith with the collection, so you can check it. Hadi is instructed to do exactly that.
2. It does not invent references
The biggest risk of AI is a confident answer with a made-up hadith or a wrong verse number. Hadi is told that a wrong citation is worse than none and to say "I am not certain of the exact reference" instead of guessing.
Wala taqfu ma laysa laka bihi ʿilmun inna alssamʿa waalbasara waalfuada kullu olaika kana ʿanhu masoolan
And do not pursue that of which you have no knowledge. Indeed, the hearing, the sight and the heart - about all those [one] will be questioned
Quran 17:36 · Surah Al-Isra
3. It prefers authentic sources
The Quran, Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim come first. When a narration is weak or disputed, it should say so.
4. It knows it is not a scholar
AI can explain what the Quran and Sunnah say and what scholars have held. It should not issue personal fatwas on divorce, inheritance, business deals or medical decisions. For those, it should send you to a qualified scholar. See is it okay to use AI for Islamic questions?
5. It is respectful and clear
No extremism, no hatred, no personal opinions dressed up as religion. Short answers for short questions, structure for complex ones.
6. It respects your privacy
Your questions can be personal. In Hadaff you can delete your chats at any time, and the app has no ads and no ad tracking.

Frequently asked questions
Is Hadi free?
Yes, Hadi is free in the Hadaff app. There is a daily usage limit so the service stays free for everyone.
Can an AI give a fatwa?
No. A fatwa is a ruling for a specific situation by a qualified scholar. AI can explain evidence and scholarly views, but it cannot take responsibility for a ruling.
