Question: How many rakats are in each prayer?
Hadi: Fajr has 2 obligatory rakats, Dhuhr 4, Asr 4, Maghrib 3 and Isha 4, seventeen in total. In addition, the Prophet ﷺ regularly prayed 12 Sunnah rakats: 2 before Fajr, 4 before and 2 after Dhuhr, 2 after Maghrib and 2 after Isha (Sahih Muslim; at-Tirmidhi).
