What to count
سُبْحَانَ اللهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ
SubhanAllahi wa bihamdihi
Glory be to Allah and praise be to Him. 100 times a day: sins forgiven even if like the foam of the sea (al-Bukhari, Muslim).
- After every prayer: SubhanAllah 33, Alhamdulillah 33, Allahu Akbar 33 and La ilaha illallah once. See dhikr after salah.
- Istighfar: Astaghfirullah 100 times a day. See istighfar.
- Salawat on the Prophet ﷺ. See salawat.
Fingers or counter?
The Prophet ﷺ counted tasbih on his fingers (Abu Dawud, at-Tirmidhi), and many people still prefer this. A digital counter helps for long counts and when you want to track numbers over time.
