Surah At-Takathur in Arabic and English
بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
أَلۡهَىٰكُمُ ٱلتَّكَاثُرُ ﴿١﴾
Alhakumu alttakathuru
Competition in [worldly] increase diverts you
حَتَّىٰ زُرۡتُمُ ٱلۡمَقَابِرَ ﴿٢﴾
Hatta zurtumu almaqabira
Until you visit the graveyards
كَلَّا سَوۡفَ تَعۡلَمُونَ ﴿٣﴾
Kalla sawfa taʿlamoona
No! You are going to know
ثُمَّ كَلَّا سَوۡفَ تَعۡلَمُونَ ﴿٤﴾
Thumma kalla sawfa taʿlamoona
Then no! You are going to know
كَلَّا لَوۡ تَعۡلَمُونَ عِلۡمَ ٱلۡيَقِينِ ﴿٥﴾
Kalla law taʿlamoona ʿilma alyaqeeni
No! If you only knew with knowledge of certainty
لَتَرَوُنَّ ٱلۡجَحِيمَ ﴿٦﴾
Latarawunna aljaheema
You will surely see the Hellfire
ثُمَّ لَتَرَوُنَّهَا عَيۡنَ ٱلۡيَقِينِ ﴿٧﴾
Thumma latarawunnaha ʿayna alyaqeeni
Then you will surely see it with the eye of certainty
ثُمَّ لَتُسۡـَٔلُنَّ يَوۡمَئِذٍ عَنِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ ﴿٨﴾
Thumma latusalunna yawmaithin ʿani alnnaʿeemi
Then you will surely be asked that Day about pleasure
