The Sunnah of Friday: a weekly checklist

Friday is the best day of the week. The Prophet ﷺ called it the master of days. These are the Sunnahs to make every Friday count.

The best day on which the sun has risen is Friday. On it Adam was created, on it he was admitted to Paradise and on it he was expelled from it.

Sahih Muslim

The Friday checklist

  2. Miswak and perfume (al-Bukhari, Muslim).

  6. Read Surah al-Kahf.
  7. Send many salawat on the Prophet ﷺ.

  9. Do not single out Friday alone for fasting (al-Bukhari, Muslim).
  10. Share a reminder: send Jumma Mubarak wishes with a hadith or verse.

O you who have believed, when [the adhan] is called for the prayer on the day of Jumu'ah [Friday], then proceed to the remembrance of Allah and leave trade. That is better for you, if you only knew And when the prayer has been concluded, disperse within the land and seek from the bounty of Allah, and remember Allah often that you may succeed
