إِنَّآ أَنزَلۡنَٰهُ فِي لَيۡلَةِ ٱلۡقَدۡرِ ﴿١﴾ وَمَآ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا لَيۡلَةُ ٱلۡقَدۡرِ ﴿٢﴾ لَيۡلَةُ ٱلۡقَدۡرِ خَيۡرٞ مِّنۡ أَلۡفِ شَهۡرٖ ﴿٣﴾ تَنَزَّلُ ٱلۡمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ وَٱلرُّوحُ فِيهَا بِإِذۡنِ رَبِّهِم مِّن كُلِّ أَمۡرٖ ﴿٤﴾ سَلَٰمٌ هِيَ حَتَّىٰ مَطۡلَعِ ٱلۡفَجۡرِ ﴿٥﴾

Inna anzalnahu fee laylati alqadri Wama adraka ma laylatu alqadri Laylatu alqadri khayrun min alfi shahrin Tanazzalu almalaikatu waalrroohu feeha biithni rabbihim min kulli amrin Salamun hiya hatta matlaʿi alfajri

Indeed, We sent the Qur'an down during the Night of Decree And what can make you know what is the Night of Decree The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months The angels and the Spirit descend therein by permission of their Lord for every matter Peace it is until the emergence of dawn

When the last ten nights began, the Prophet ﷺ would stay up at night, wake his family and tighten his waist wrapper (strive hard in worship).

The dua for Laylatul Qadr

Aisha asked the Prophet ﷺ what she should say if she knew which night is Laylatul Qadr. He said:

اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنِّي

Allahumma innaka afuwwun tuhibbul-afwa fa'fu anni

O Allah, You are Pardoning and love to pardon, so pardon me. (at-Tirmidhi, Ibn Majah)
